——— A Message To Christian Women ———
I continue with the list of pointers from my last post:
WORKING FROM HOME: If you are a career woman, aim to be excellent, be the best at what you do, but do not let your work take precedence over your God, or your family. As much as you can, do your work at the workplace. If your work can be done from home, don’t lock yourself up working when you have not made arrangements for your family to be fed, or for your house to be cleaned, or for your clothes to be washed and ironed. Get help for all these, but if you cannot, then you must apportion time to do all these before you concentrate on your work.
If you have children, determine that you will not let them see themselves as second to your work. They will resent you when they grow up. Please do not let television bring up your children, even though it is a useful educational tool. Maintain a degree of supervision over what your children watch on TV.
If you are married, please make sure your husband doesn’t feel you are married to your work, even when your deadlines are demanding. Let him know your challenges so he can support you, but that should not be the norm. Do what you can to keep your important relationships healthy; that is what will provide the requisite emotional health to do your work.
Get organised, lady!
