——— A Message To Christian Women ———
You need to allocate time for the important things, and in their proper order. We start our discussion with the maintenance of spiritual health:
1. THE QUIET TIME: Your quiet time may be the only time you have to read the word of God. Have your quiet time. If you must wake up early, do. Try to turn in early, so you can wake up to soak in the word which is the sword of the spirit and with which you will do battle that day. That may mean depriving yourself of watching a movie that goes into the night, late night reading for pleasure, or late night chatting with friends. Indeed, if you wake up early enough, you can do more than the assigned reading and grow by the word which you imbibe on a constant, consistent basis.
2. BIBLE READING/STUDYTIME: In addition to your quiet time, try to find time, either at lunch time, or in the evening before you get ready for bed, to read some scripture.
3. CHURCH ATTENDANCE AND ACTIVITIES:
i. Attendance: No matter how little time you think you have, make sure that fellowship with believers is ranked among the important things you do. Church attendance every Sunday is non-negotiable. Unless you are unwell, or out of town, or suddenly bereaved, please ensure that you do not make excuses for why you should absent yourself from Sunday worship. Weekday church activities are desirable, and that is why they are designed for us. However, by reason of peculiar problems, weekday church services may be tricky. Make it your goal as much as possible to attend them. If you really cannot, your quiet time should carry you through the week if you are faithful to keep the time to meet with the Lord.
ii. Get yourself involved in building the Kingdom. In the end, your work in the kingdom is the only thing that will endure for eternity, everything else will lose significance. It is the untutored Christian who thinks that church work is for the Pastors alone.
Participation in church work is not the preserve of a few people. Be kingdom-minded. You can do something. Let your time, and talents count. In Matthew 6:20, Jesus Himself encourages you to deposit something in the Bank of Heaven which will stand to your credit when time is no more. Impact a life. No contribution in the house of God or in the life of a believer is too small. God knows how much He has deposited in you, so within the constraints of your time, maximize what God has given you for the benefit of the kingdom. Everybody belongs to a group in this church. Make sure you mark/note meeting days on your calendar, your phone, or anything you use as a reminder of events and appointments, and attend. And when you do, please be prompt so the meeting can start and close early.
You must maintain sound spiritual health out of which you will develop the strength to carry on all your other activities. A disciplined Christian life is a purposeful and productive one. Take these matters to heart.
Order your life, lady!
